Outside distractions are not really a problem for me. I do not watch tv or listen to music when i play. Biggest distraction is playing more than one at a time.
That said the big change for me is i will focused on taking my hands off the mouse and keyboard between every action and i will never pre click an option box. I think it really helped. That extra motion gave me time to sometimes stop and and realize i needed to think more.
All in all fairly successful. Finished 451 out of a field of 16,000. It was a ko game and i got 5 knockouts. That combined with my finish meant a payoff of nearly 4 1/2 times the buyin.
What did I learn. I need to really learn more about 3 betting light. I know it is not just sometimes do it. Rather stack sizes and other factors come into play. Need to find some articles and vids on this.
I think I did pretty well in the 6 man format other than the 3 betting issue. But still some reading or vids on 6 man would also be a good idea.
So now I have my homework for the week.
Steve, this was a good idea and I think it should be repeated.

Hi Dennis. I have a few artciles on 3betting considerations and also some info on 6 max MTTs however rather than just throwing it up here we are going to try to fit this in with everything else by adding it to our framework content. That way everyone knows where to find things and can benefit.
As to the repeating the exercise - in 2010 the members will be incorporating learnings on a regular basis and two acticivies at least will help to cement these. 1) Focused MTTs like this but paying special attention to a specific learning point (like your examples) and feeding back to the group their ecxperiences for others to learn from. 2) Buddy coaching - basically we learn better when we teach so as an example you might get to grips with 6 max MTT strategy and then run a master class for interested members using powerpoint, video and skype commentary.
Hope that makes sense.
Good deep run BTW.
