We thought it would be a good idea to discuss how to evaluate where you are at - and to break up the game of poker to create a series of questions to evaluate your game.
Think about how you would determine where you are and how we can measure your game.
5 mins Review of Self Evaluation
10 mins Discussion on Concept
5 mins wrap Up...say our good byes.

Well.. i follow the suggestion in our first meeting and took the poker skill test at www.donkeytest.com/ and the result was: "Your PokerIQ is: 91" IQ Score Skill Level 60 - 74 Donkey (Expected to lose quickly in all games) 75 - 89 Donator (Expected to lose in all games) 90 - 109 Average Player (Expected to lose slowly in raked games, break even in homegames) 110 - 119 Low Stakes Winner (Wins at 100 NL and lower) 120 - 129 Medium Stakes Cash Pro / Tournament Pro (Wins at 200-600 NL and tournament poker) 130 - 144 High Stakes Pro (Wins at 1K NL+) 145 - 159 Poker Genius ..i think it corresponds to the truth. the result is just a reinforcement of what i already knew... the positive side of this is that... at least i was right in my judgment to evaluate where i was.

I think this is a trick question. It wasn't 'which is the worst hand in poker'. It was a question about being all in heads up? I thin kthere is a subtle difference.

you may be right i couldn't remember and the quiz would not let me back in to check i choose 23 also even though i have been told 72 is the worse all in at least the 7 has some value as the highest card i think.

I took the donkey test 2/2007 and scored 98 at that time.
Did it again and got 115.
Test is still the same but I could not remember more than few of previous responses. It is pretty difficult test for me. Most probably there has been some development but still a lot room for improvement.
If you want to repeat the test you need different email address.
I do remember seeing a showdown value hand chart at some point which was different compared to standard starting hand chart. Would that be correct one to use in that spot? . If someone finds it, please post.
Goozfraba77, you nailed it down. It is good to know where you are in order to know where you want to go. Bishamonten, impressive result, wp.

I took the test and felt lost...lol as I recall a 105 score. Then I wanted the answers.....so I created the Syndicate...kidding. Actually if you google donkeytest and twoplustwo there is a huge thread going through each questions and various responses to each question. Worth creating something like that - a self evaluation TEST which gives you feedback not only on your overall play - but sub categories (i.e. Poker math or heads up or bubble play or starting hands etc) so as a player you can take OUR test and then get feedback on where your game is at. This can be done two ways....1. We break down the game (fifty factors anyone) and then create questions or 2. we break down the game and search the web for questions previously posted....I am sure if we search hard enough there are great questions posted that would serve as a guideline if that makes sense. I think it is a valuable project - we can break it up by POD...and with all the information out there - we can come up with an exam for all in the syndicate to take. Not to mention good fodder for our discussions...you don't want me to keep telling Canadian Hockey Stories do you McLucky? www.google.ca/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=donkey+test+and+twoplustwo+archive&meta=&rlz=1R2GGIE_en&aq=f&oq=

Agree - that's sorta the point of category 8 item 6 'Snapshot Poker Syndicate tests'.
There's a lot of work in compiling these but a lot of learning in doing it.
BTW Steve I had a look at Matasow's 'interactive' video technology over at his site. A great idea but poor content - at least in the samples.
We could do just as good if not better using forms based multiple choice i think.

I do like the "figure out this scenario" puzzle like question much like donkeytest..maybe more action related.
Its much like Harringtons books - took dry malmuth/sklansky poker stuff and put in hands and asked questions and made the read easier.

i'm at 113 i guess is ok and i definitely call too much. i'm thinking of purchasing the profile for 10$. doesn't seem like a bad investment but it's too geared towards tourney players in my opinion. i choosed 23 worse than 27o - and i don't really see the discussion here as u just have to put random vs 23 random vs 27 in the stove. but there are alot of though spots there and i'm lost not to mention that in real life i could never call all ins of so much money... can anyone give me the link to the twoplustwo forum discussion? thanks!
